Government funded insurance for seniors and the disabled
Medicare is a health insurance plan funded and controlled by the federal government, but offered through private insurance companies. Every person that turns 65 must select the plan that they feel will suit their needs the best. Some of the selection considerations are based on the person’s preferred doctors or medical care providers, their geographic location, and prescription medication. These plans are free to the insured person, and are sold by licensed life & health insurance professionals. Commissions are paid for the first year of coverage, and renewal commissions are paid every year thereafter that the insured person remains in the original plan. Medicare plans can also cover people under the age of 65 who have disabilities and require medical benefits established under the Medicare guidelines.
